BOTY is a mobile app connecting people @ the bar. So you downloaded the app and now wondering what to do next? Here are ways to best use BOTY.

What to expect during Registration:

  • You can register via Facebook, Google or email.
  • Be sure to upload a picture and provide required details to register.
  • You must indicate whether he/she is a Bartender, Customer, or Establishment.
  • If you’re a Bartender enter location (City, State), employer, favorite bar, work schedule, any drink recipes, and all other profile questions.
  • If you’re a Customer enter location, enter favorite bar and favorite beverage. 
  • If you’re representing an Establishment, enter location, website, enter hours of operation, bartenders, recipes, any pictures and other profile questions.

 

Here’s how Bartenders best use BOTY

Best Use BOTY

  • Upload a bartender verification video that shows you working behind the bar. Not required but recommended and can’t be longer than 15 seconds.
  • Update your tagline. Gives users the opportunity to get to know you a little better.
  • Fill out your work schedule every Sunday. Allows users the chance to plan their week around coming to see. (And spend more money $$$)
  • Invite friends, fellow bartenders and your employer to download the app. Go to ‘settings’ from the main menu to invite friends.
  • Let customers, especially ‘regulars’ know to download the app and follow you. More followers = $$$.
  • Ask friends, fellow bartenders and employer to rate you. Higher rating = More Credibility = More $$$
  • Upload drink recipes. Click on recipes from the menu section and add any special drink recipes that you create or enjoy making the most.
  • Follow friends, fellow bartenders, followers and establishments. Build up your list of followers.
  • If private, accept or deny any follow requests by clicking on the notifications: requests button.
  • Send a direct message from time to time to other users. Keep others engaged.
  • Be sure to rate other bartenders. Spread the Love.
  • Check in (bottom right corner) as soon as you get to work. Followers get alerted once you check-in. Bring the crowd to you. $$
  • Check in while visiting other bars. Followers know when you are hanging out. Of course, don’t check in if you don’t want them to know.
  • Click on the establishment profile and click on check-ins to see all the users checked in.
  • If checked in, flirt with other users. Don’t worry, it’s not all flirts. Use the flirt feature as a fun way to break the ice and connect with others while out.
  • Indicate whether you want a public on private profile by clicking on settings from the menu. Public allows users to find you, see your schedule, check out your drink recipes among other things. Private only provides followers to view your profile and feed.
  • Check the establishment page for any upcoming trivia games. If you have time, sign up and play against others.

 

Here’s how Patrons best use BOTY:

  • Determine whether you want your profile public or private by clicking on settings from the menu. Public allows users to find you, see your profile, and keep up to date with your feed. Private only provides followers to view your profile and feed.
  • Update your tagline. Let other users know a little more about you.
  • Invite friends, bartenders and establishments to download the app via email, Facebook or word of mouth. Go to ‘settings’ from the main menu to invite friends.
  • Follow friends, bartenders, followers and establishments that you find interesting. Cool followers = better time out at the bar.
  • If private, accept or deny any follow requests by clicking on the notifications: requests button.
  • Send a direct message from time to time to other users. Keep others engaged.
  • Be sure to rate bartenders and establishments. Let others know the best bartenders and establishments to check out.
  • You should check-in (bottom right corner)  into establishments when you arrive at the bar. Followers know when you are hanging out. Of course, don’t check in if you don’t want them to know.
  • Click on the establishment profile and click on check-ins to see all the users checked in.
  • If checked in, customers should flirt with other users. Don’t worry, it’s not all flirts. Use the flirt feature as a fun way to break the ice and connect with others while out.
  • Check the establishment page for any upcoming trivia games. If you have time, sign up and play against others.

 

Establishments

  • Add 5 photos to profile.  5 photos is the maximum allowed.
  • Update tagline.
  • Provide information about their place of business.
  • Input and verify address, website and bar category are correct.
  • Add any bartenders that work at the establishment via email or Facebook.
  • Invite friends, bartenders and other establishments to download the app via email, Facebook and word of mouth.
  • Ask friends, bartenders that work there, other bartenders and establishments to rate them.
  • Click on recipes from the menu section and add any special drink recipes that they may have created or specials they offer on an ongoing basis.
  • Follow friends, bartenders, followers and other establishments that they find interesting.
  • Set up game trivia by determining a time and date and invite patrons to participate. (Patrons have to download the app to play)

Here are the steps to play the game: 

1. Establishments with a profile on the BOTY app are in charge of setting up games that can only be played at their place of business.
 
2. Establishments specify the time the game will start.
 
3. The games last 40 minutes.
 
4. Those who follow the establishment or have checked-in will get a notification about when the game is set to begin.
 
5. Interested people can enroll themselves.  Moments before commencement of the game, users get a push notification.
 
6. After accepting to play from the push notification, user gets an alert when game is set to begin.
 
7. Winners of the Game Trivia will receive prizes from the host establishment
 
8. The top scores will be posted on the establishment’s ‘Leaderboard.’
 
9. Each establishment will have a Hall of Fame that will show the top scorers over time.
